A pregnant woman driving is a fairly common occurrence in
the modern world. Now the girl is responsible for two lives, so while driving
she must protect not only herself, but also the unborn child. In this
interesting position, even a small injury during an accident is dangerous for
the fetus, so the pregnant woman must use a seat belt and airbags while
driving.
How to use a seat belt?
First of all, the seat belt must be adjusted based on the
wishes and characteristics of the pregnant woman: he should not push or hang
heavily. When the car is moving, it must be firmly fixed so that its lower part
passes under the stomach, comfortably grasping the hips, and the upper - from
the left shoulder through the center of the chest. It is forbidden to wear a
belt over the abdomen, since in case of an accident a sharp jerk can provoke
the detachment of the placenta from the uterine wall.
Airbags - Extra Protection!
Airbags guarantee protection during an accident. They should
always be included. But their presence does not mean that the seat belt does
not have to be fastened. If a pregnant woman is not fastened during an
accident, then the pillows will cause great harm to her and the baby.
How to make driving more comfortable?
1. If the future mother has anxiety or abdominal
pain, then you should not drive. It is better to call a taxi so as not to put
yourself and your baby at risk.
2. Flavors must be removed from the machine so as not to
cause nausea (especially when the woman is in the first trimester of
pregnancy).
3. Before driving, always ventilate the car for 10-15
minutes, but during the ride you can open the window that is behind the
driver's seat if the woman is driving in front.
4. In the glove compartment, you need to store mint candies,
a bottle of water without gas (possibly with the addition of lemon), it is also
better to take a green apple with you.
5. The maximum duration of the trip should be no more than
2.5-3 hours, so that the woman does not get sick, there is no abdominal pain
and discomfort in the lower back.
6. If the pregnant woman is driving, then it is worth moving
the seat further from the steering wheel, but so that it is convenient to get
to the pedals. There should be at least 10 cm between the steering wheel and
the stomach. If the steering wheel is adjustable, it is best to install it in
the highest position, so that if the airbag is deployed, it will be in the
chest area.
